A breathtaking area with historical significance, the West Kelowna neighbourhood of Fintry and communities along Westside Road once served as part of the Hudson Bay Trail fur-trading route.
Lying on the west shore of Okanagan Lake, Fintry is named after the “Laird of Fintry,” Capt. James Cameron Dun-Waters, a Scottish newspaper owner and captain in the First World War, who settled there in 1909. Today, his preserved manor and estate are part of a historical landmark in Fintry Provincial Park.
Sparsely populated and beautifully situated, Fintry and the Westside Road area have everything from modern waterfront developments to sprawling acreages surrounded by forest.
